PORTLAND, Ore.— An Earth Day webinar led by one of the founders of the Center for Biological Diversity will explore a plan for protecting 30% of America’s wildlands and waters by 2030 and half of them by 2050.

The Center's Executive Director Kierán Suckling will convene a small panel of experts on a webinar to dive into the value of public lands and waters, the importance of thinking big, and what it'll take to ensure wild animals and plants have long-term protection for the places they call home. The conversation will last about an hour.

Scientists predict that more than 1 million species could face extinction in the coming decades. Wednesday’s discussion will focus on the Center’s recently released plan, Saving Life on Earth, which outlines policies the United States must implement to tackle this crisis.
