BELEM, Brazil— Activists from three continents will hold a press conference Nov. 14 about the artificial intelligence industry’s environmental threats.
The rise of AI has been met with both techno-optimism and social fears. But missing from the mainstream conversation are the AI boom’s serious threats to air, water, wildlife, the climate and social justice.
What: A press conference with climate advocates about the climate and environmental threats from data center expansion to feed the AI industry.
This panel will feature global activists from South America, Asia and North America challenging data center projects and pushing for comprehensive regulation that protects people and the planet, not monopolistic profiteers.
