Grand Canyon news release: National Park Service secures funding for protection of endangered southwestern willow flycatcher

Center's comment: "We support Grand Canyon's important endangered wildlife recovery efforts, which shows the Endangered Species Act is working for conservation. NPS should be controlling cowbirds this year, and mule barns will be cleaned up, which will help recover the southwestern willow flycatcher and protect many other beautiful birds at the Grand Canyon."
Daniel R. Patterson, Desert Ecologist with the Center for Biological Diversity in Tucson. (520.623.5252 x306)

PEER comment: "We are delighted that the Grand Canyon National Park has voluntarily agreed to protect endangered native wildlife within its confines."
Jeff Ruch, Executive Director, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility. (202.265.7337)
